And we at Girl Scouts want to make sure every girl has the opportunity to enjoy the traditional camp outings we all grew up with, while also taking advantage of the AMAZING variety of contemporary outdoor pursuits that camp allows them. In short, we want girls to have the camp experience they’ve always dreamed of.

Geauga Park District

9160 Robinson Road

Chardon, OH 44024

Summer camp fun picks right up where it left off starting mid-June, with biking, fishing, exploring the creeks and sending rockets high into the sky!

Geauga Park District’s third annual adventure camps will be offered in week-long forms for youth grades 5-7 the weeks of June 15 and 22, July 6, 13 and 27, and August 13. A week-long experience will also be available for teens entering grades 8-10 the week of July 20.

Also for teens entering grades 8-10, single-day X-Treme Adventures will target more specific areas of fun on June 29 and 30 and July 1 and 2. Last year’s sessions included survival, air and space, kayaking the Cuyahoga River, natural science with park biologists and extreme astronomy.

“Campers’ parents were excited about their kids’ enthusiasm last year,” said Sandy Ward, Park District communications specialist. “James and Cameron’s mom said how every day they came home and couldn’t stop talking about all the cool things they’d done that day. Jack’s mom told us that even though he had never spent any of his money that he’d saved up over the years, he came home from rocket day and immediately bought rocket equipment on Amazon. And we’re working hard toward many more success stories in ‘15!”

Summer camps are sponsored by the Chip Henry Institute for Outdoor Adventure, a special initiative established through Geauga Park District Foundation in memory of Judge Charles “Chip” Henry, who had great passion for Nature and youth.

Phone-in registration begins March 20 at 440-286-9516. Check for fees, additional details and waiver forms.
