The Board of Trustees chose Trustee Kristina O’Brien as 2022 Chair of the Board at an organizational meeting Jan. 3. She will also serve as liaison to the zoning department.

Trustee Jeff Markley was chosen as the liaison to the police and fire departments and Trustee Michael Bates, present for his first meeting after being sworn in as a trustee, was chosen as service department liaison.

Mr. Markley served as chair in 2021.

Mrs. O’Brien has served on the board since 2019. She was the liaison for the township Service Department in 2019 and the township representative to the Chagrin River Watershed Partners, Inc. She has lived in the township with her husband and three sons since 1999.

“It’s a great honor to be chosen to lead the Board of Trustees as Chair,” Mrs. O’Brien said. “I appreciate the residents trusting me to lead the board this year.”

In other business, the trustees approved several resolutions that set the roadmap for the year ahead, including the meeting schedule for 2022.

Mileage reimbursement and per diem for miles driven by authorized township personnel was approved at $58.50 – up $2.50 from last year – per the 2022 IRS standard mileage rates.

The trustees will meet next Jan. 10.
