Axiom Development Group broke ground on Moreland Commons at a ceremony on May 21. Bryan Stone, principal of Axiom, spoke to an audience of more tha 30 people, including Moreland Hills Mayor Susan Renda and future homeowners, about the new housing development on Chagrin Boulevard.

Moreland Commons, located in Moreland Hills across the street from the Orange City School District campus, will feature 41 single family homes and 18 townhomes spread over 21 acres. Payne and Payne Builders is partnering with Axiom to build the houses, and Adam Kaufman with Howard Hanna is the real estate agent for the development. Prices for the homes start at $775,000, according to the press release.

Village Engineer Jeff Filarski said that Axiom is waiting on a permit to install, also known as PTI, from the EPA. Then, Mr. Filarski will approve the subdivision improvement plans and will write the permits from the village building department. Axiom will need general construction permits, he said, which include right-of-way opening and stormwater pollution prevention. Mr. Stone and Steve Bittence of Axiom expect construction-related activities to begin in the next couple of weeks.
