Scholastic Book Fair
Moreland Hills School will host its Scholastic Book Fair from Dec. 6 to Dec. 10 at the school library. This event is an opportunity for students of all ages to build their home libraries and further their love of reading. As always, all purchases benefit the school.
The book fair offers a cash-free payment option called eWallet. It is a convenient digital account that students can use for shopping at the fair. Parents, friends and grandparents can visit bit.ly/MorelandParentEWallet for full instructions. Additional information about the fair can be found at https://bit.ly/BookFairFAQ.
For Veterans Day, students across the Orange Schools campus paid tribute to our U.S. Veterans in a myriad of ways from writing thank you cards and listening to Veterans’ stories to collecting and distributing ‘Coins for Courage.’ The more than $2600 collected in change by Moreland Hills School elementary students will provide at least 10 U.S. Veterans a safe and inspirational all-expense-paid trip to Washington, DC via Honor Flight Cleveland. This is the largest amount of money collected to date for this program. The school coordinated the effort with PTA parents and the Orange High School National Honor Society students who helped count and distribute the money.
Brady Middle School students and staff paid tribute to our military on Veterans Day through cards, collections and Patriot Pen essays. Students collected more than 80 pounds of candy to be sent to soldiers along with letters and cards they wrote to soldiers and veterans. General cards that were addressed “Dear Veteran” were dropped off at the Sandusky and Cleveland VA hospitals while cards made out to Honor Flight recipients will be taken to them on the next Honor Flight Cleveland trip, hopefully in the spring of 2022. The candy will be boxed up and sent to the “Soldiers Angels” Treats for Troops program.
