The Chagrin Falls School District announced on Monday that they have pushed back their return dates again due to the recent rise in positive COVID-19 cases.
Kindergarten through grade 12 will return on Jan. 10 and preschool will return on Jan. 11.
“In direct response to the spike in COVID-19 cases and high degree of community spread, the district will use the delay of school reopening to revise and implement additional mitigation factors to help minimize spread,” said Superintendent Jennifer Penczarski in a recent email sent out to students’ families.
The email said that 103 student cases and 16 staff cases have been reported since Dec. 22.
“However, given that this is a fluid situation, the district will need to be prepared to modify these plans if there is a substantial change to our COVID-19 numbers or our ability to operate over the next couple of days,” Dr. Penczarski said.
