There are several Winter Concerts coming up for Orange High School and Brady Middle School student musicians. Students have been practicing their seasonal and holiday repertoire and are eager to perform. The bands are under the direction of Mr. Brandon DuVall and Mr. Jake Robinson; the orchestras are under the direction of Mrs. Rebecca Ellsworth; and the choirs are under the direction of Mr. Dalton Phillips.
All performances will take place on the Orange Schools Campus, 32000 Chagrin Blvd, beginning at 7 p.m. On Dec. 9, the BMS Winter Choral Concert will take place in the BMS cafeteria. On Dec. 14, the BMS Winter Orchestra Concert will take place in the BMS cafeteria. On Dec. 15, the OHS Winter Band Concert will take place in the OHS auditorium. On Dec 16, the BMS Winter Band Concert will take place in the BMS gymnasium.
Nearly two dozen Brady Middle School students presented their creative projects in person at the annual Science Fair earlier this month. First Place honors went to seventh-grader Daniel Lee (pictured left) for his project, “The Impact of Saturated Fats in Cookie Qualities.” Second Place was awarded to eighth-grader Anshul Sharma (pictured right) for “Is turmeric a good blood clotting agent?” Tied for third place were siblings Lucy Chaisson, a seventh grader, for “What’s the ‘proof?’ Best leavening agents for bread” and sixth-grader Joseph Chaisson for his project, “Ozone on Earth: good or bad?” An Honorable Mention was also awarded to eighth-graders Vivian Qi and Jessie Zhang for “How Salinity Affects Bean Plant Growth.”
