The Chagrin Valley Islamic Center (CVIC), 6909 Liberty Road, is expanding its reach into the community by offering free clinics for all, beginning with a Diabetes Clinic at 2 p.m. March 17.
The Diabetes Clinic, sponsored by Salaam Clinic, Cleveland’s free clinic for the under-insured and uninsured, will provide free blood sugar testing and expert consultation at the CVIC.
According to Masroor Malik, of the Chagrin Valley Islamic Center, the Diabetes Clinic will be provided in addition to the regular primary and preventive care that is provided by Salaam Clinic.
Salaam Clinic has been providing monthly free clinics at the Chagrin Valley Islamic Center for the past few months.
Free clinics will be offered beginning 2 p.m. the last Friday of every month, said Mr. Malik.
As with all free clinics, walk-ins will be accepted.
After the March 17 clinic, the Friday afternoon free clinics at the CVIC will provide primary care and preventive services, with different providers offering services free of charge to the patients.
The CVIC just celebrated its one-year anniversary in Solon. It is providing the health care services to Solon and surrounding communities as a way to serve those in their new home community, according to Mr. Malik.
