A 51-year-old Bainbridge man was killed in an industrial accident last week inside the C4 Polymers plant, according to Bainbridge police.

On Nov. 3 at 3:14 p.m., Bainbridge Police and Fire departments responded to a report of an industrial accident at the plant at 16625 Wren Road where the fatality occurred.

Bainbridge police and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration this week continued to investigate the accident at the plastics recycling company that resulted in the death of Reed Gilbert, according to reports. No other injuries were reported, and drug use is not suspected, police said.

Police could not disclose further details of the event as of Wednesday morning because the investigation is ongoing, police Chief Jon Bokovitz said. Investigators are awaiting toxicology and coroner reports, he said, that often take up to six or eight weeks.
