Middle school students awarded

The Student of the Month award at Chagrin Falls Middle School acknowledges students for their outstanding performance and rewards them for their efforts. The students were chosen by seventh- and eighth-grade teams to be “Tigers of the Month.” These students exemplify the “Tiger” techniques of think, integrity, grit, effort and responsibility.

Seventh-graders Claire Guddy and Jack Cencula, and eighth-graders Sophie Hill and Owen Denton were students of the month in September. Eighth-graders Aiden Cabic and Libby Cain, and seventh-graders Audrey Holmes and Kai De Leon were students of the month for October.

Students join KSU band

Chagrin Falls High School junior Maris Walter and sophomore Avery Shinkawa were selected from more than 190 high school band students to perform on the field with the Kent State University Marching Band on Oct. 26. The students joined the KSU band for the Halloween song, “The Monster Mash.” Students rehearsed before the game with the KSU band and sat with the band during the game.

“That was a little cold and really wet, but it was so nice to get to be with my sister on the field,” said Maris, whose sister is in the KSU band.
