Not rain or gloom or the Cleveland Indians in the American League playoffs could stop the Chagrin Documentary Film Festival from another blockbuster event this past weekend.

This year’s feast of documentaries began with a film about young people rolling pumpkins and ended with old men singing a cappella. In between were 78 other stories from 28 countries that would draw what figures to be the largest audiences in the event’s eight-year history.
