An Aurora resident was charged with aggravated vehicular homicide and OVI following a SUV-pedestrian accident on March 26 in Bainbridge where a man was killed, according to Chardon Municipal Court records.
Brooke Jarvis, 29, was released on a $50,000 bail bond after an arraignment and is due back in court for a preliminary hearing on April 13, according to court records.
Ms. Jarvis was arrested and charged by Bainbridge police after the SUV she was driving struck a man walking on Chagrin Road with another pedestrian. Court records show that Ms. Jarvis had a blood-alcohol level of .212 at the time of the accident.
Ms. Jarvis entered a plea of not guilty to one count of aggravated vehicular homicide, a second-degree felony, as well as two first-degree misdemeanor counts of operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
According to reports, Ms. Jarvis was driving eastbound on Chagrin Road near Savage Road at about 10:30 p.m. when her vehicle hit Chadwick McIntosh of Mineral Ridge who was walking in the same direction and same lane. He was pronounced dead at the scene after being struck from behind, according to records. The other pedestrian was not hit or injured, according to reports.
Ms. Jarvis did not stop, according to reports, and another motorist called dispatch to report the accident.
