The Board of Supervisors of the Geauga Soil and Water Conservation District invites the public to their Annual Election & Ice Cream Social on Sept. 30 from 5-8 p.m. at the Patterson Center on the Geauga County Fairgrounds, 14269 N. Cheshire Road, Burton.

Help celebrate their 77th anniversary while also voting for the next board supervisors. Learn how to access online tools to investigate your property’s soil and water, vote for the next two board supervisors and enjoy a sweet treat. This year’s conservation awards and rain barrels will also be showcased. Candidates for board supervisors are Dee Below, Melissa Davis and Mary Slinguff.

Voting began Sept. 1. All voters must be at least 18 years of age the day of the election and must reside or own land within Geauga County. Anyone wishing to vote who cannot attend the Annual Election & Ice Cream Social may do so by stopping by the Geauga SWCD office at 14269 Claridon-Troy Road in Burton during business hours, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., or by making a request for an absentee voting ballot by calling 440-834-1122 or emailing All completed ballots must be received by Sept. 30.
