There was another round of vandalism at Forest Ridge Preserve in Moreland Hills, Mayor Dan Fritz reported at the Nov. 4 council meeting, with spray paint and carvings on trees. Shane Wohlken, a land stewart from the Western Reserve Land Conservancy, noticed a mountain bike path on the property in May. The village found the two boys who created it and they agreed to help repair the damage. There were also spray-painted numbers on trees at that time, but the two incidents were unrelated. Now there are more spray-painted numbers that go in numerical order.

About eight trees were sprayed with two colors of paint. Mayor Fritz is suspecting that children might be using it for an airsoft or a paintball course. He has passed out information to the homeowners association for Quail Hollow Drive, which is near Forest Ridge Preserve. Mayor Fritz said that the village will not tolerate damage to Forest Ridge and the responsible parties will be prosecuted. There will be an increased police presence in the area and surveillance cameras will be used.
