South Russell Village on Monday held the first of three required readings for an ordinance that would allow the village to procure CT Consultants to perform work on the Manor Brook Headwater Stream Restoration Project through noncompetitive proposal at a special council meeting on June 1.

Village Fiscal Officer Danielle Romanowski said the work will involve developing project plans and specifications for bidding, conducting a survey of the area and providing hydrologic and hydraulic studies for the project.

She also said a price point hasn’t yet been discussed for the project, as this ordinance is still new, but it will get its second of three required readings this upcoming Monday, when the village will hold another special council meeting at 8 a.m. at Village Hall.

Council also approved the purchase of a new 2020 riding mower from Chagrin Pet, Garden & Power Equipment for $13,131, which the village Park and Street Departments will use for maintaining property.
