District welcomes new board members

The Newbury Local School District swore in David Lair and Terri Rice to the Board of Education at the organizational meeting on Jan. 13. Both Mr. Lair and Mrs. Rice are active in the Newbury schools community.

Mr. Lair is a 1969 graduate of Newbury High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army. “I am extremely honored to join the Newbury Board of Education, whose efforts over the past two years have enabled us to later this year join the highly-rated West Geauga [Local] School District, providing our students with tremendous new opportunities and saving our residents significant tax dollars,” Mr. Lair said.

Mrs. Rice’s two grown children graduated from Newbury High School. Mrs. Rice said she eagerly anticipates using her organizational leadership skills.

Mr. Lair and Mrs. Rice join Maggie Zock, Terry Sedivy and Kimya Matthews on the board. For more information, visit www.newburyschools.org.
