Circuits fly high with first place win
The Orange High School robotics team, 1787 - The Flying Circuits, took first place at the Miami Valley Regional earlier this month and qualified for the world championships in Detroit, Michigan, on April 29. Out of 60 teams, OHS ranked third after qualification rounds and was picked first by the number two-seeded alliance. The OHS Flying Circuits, along with their two alliance partners (Team 340 - GRR from Rochester, New York, and Team 3266 - Robots-R-Us from Eaton, Ohio), went undefeated in the playoffs to bring home the first-place trophy.
This is the second year in a row that the OHS team, now in its 15th year, has qualified for the world championships. In addition to this victory, the team also took home the Industrial Design Award sponsored by General Motors.
