Speech and Debate competes

Kenston Middle School's Speech and Debate team competed virtually at its first tournament of the season, sponsored by John F. Kennedy High School in Warren. Students Porter Fontana, Charlie McBride, Charlotte Syslo, Joey Triscaro and Grace Voudris got their first tournament of the season under their belts. KMS's Public Forum Debate teams each had three wins and one loss, with Charlie and Charlotte taking first place and Joey and Grace taking second place. Porter competed in congressional debate in his first-ever speech and debate tournament.

KMS students Marin Carlson, Demi Marshall, Charlie McBride, Kherington Swader, Charlotte Syslo and Grace Voudris competed in Speech and Debate at Ursuline in Youngstown on Halloween. Grace Voudris took first place in extemporaneous debate with an undefeated 3-0 record. Charlie McBride and Grace Voudris took second place in public forum debate. Kherington took fifth place in congressional debate, and Demi Marshall took fifth place in oratory.

Timmons honors Lunch Bunch

Timmons Elementary School selected 33 students to receive respect awards as the October Lunch Bunch.

The October Timmons Lunch Bunch include: kindergartners Karlis Apelis, Emmett Danzi, Amelia Davis, Abigail Fender, Lily Leffler, Fiona McIvor, London Stanley, Carlina Szabo and Lucas Touzalin; First-graders Giordanna "Danna" Somich, Ruth Armstrong, Corinne Saccardi, Savannah Susman, Norah Ackroyd, Aubrianna Falletta, Bella Liotta and Jonathan Wright; second-graders were Kyla Kucharson, Levi McArdle, Lily Oliver, Ethan Sommers, Ireland Szarka, Nico Thornton and Lincoln VanFossen; and third-graders were Georgia Burke, Owen Danzi, Fiona DiFiore, Lillian Hoffman-Konst, Marlena Kawash, Harper Milroy, Violet Myers, Mason Puma and Ryan Zawitz.
