Radio show features student idea

A Jordak Elementary School fourth grader’s opinion on creating a ban to protect the environment and wildlife was featured on the WVIZ/PBS Ideastream program NewsDepth. The student wrote that wildlife is an essential part of the environment and suggested a ban on paved roads in areas where animals populate to prevent those animals from getting injured.

Career day takes students to work

On Sept. 26, Cardinal Middle School eighth-graders spent the day traveling throughout the county to visit different businesses as part of the Geauga Growth Partnership, Inc. Career Day. Each year scholars do this as a way to learn more about various types of businesses. This year, students traveled to Best Sand, Geauga Mechanics and University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center. Each business gave a presentation followed by a tour of facilities. Students even participated in work-related activities such as giving CPR and using computer aided design to inspect duct work.
