Regional award

Ken McClintock, an educational aide for Chagrin Falls Middle School, won a Support Staff of the Year award from the Ohio Middle Level Association. Principal Laila Discenza nominated Mr. McClintock for this award, which recognizes a staff member who fosters positive, trusting relationships with staff, students and parents.

The state of Ohio is divided into eight regions and Mr. McClintock won the award for North East region. Mr. McClintock will be recognized during an awards reception at the Ohio Middle Level State Conference in Columbus on Oct. 28.

Students learn bus safety

On Sept. 24, bus drivers from the district’s transportation department visited the students at Gurney Elementary School to teach them about school bus safety.

“Thank you to our amazing transportation department for reminding Gurney students how to be responsible, safe and respectful on the bus,” Assistant Principal Sarah Reed said. “Our drivers are committed to keeping everyone at Chagrin Falls Schools safe.”
