District receives media awards

The Ohio School Public Relations Association (OHSPRA) recognized the Orange schools communications team of Lou DeVincentis and Staci Adelman Vincent this year as part of the 2020 OHSPRA Achievement Awards.

Orange took home the “Best of the Best” in Photography in the state for Ms. Vincent’s fall 2019 photograph of OHS Marching Lion Band member Alexander White’s perspective of band camp, entitled “eyeTunes.” This is Ms. Vincent’s seventh annual Best of the Best in the state award for photography. Director of Communications Lou DeVincentis was sworn-in as president of OHSPRA in June 2020 and will serve in that role for two years.

Ms. Vincent also received two Mark of Distinction awards for photos entitled “Putting Our Best Foot Forward,” marking the “kick-off” to the 2019 MHS Olympics event, and “Seeing is Believing,” focusing on the MHS second grade worm study.

The communications team also received Mark of Distinction awards for social media for the district’s Facebook page and for special purpose publications for the district calendar, “A Day in the Life.” The Orange Pride e-newsletter received a Mark of Excellence, as was the #TeamOrange 2019 Quality Profile.

Orange offering lunches to go

Orange schools are currently offering free bagged meals to go for students. In order to make the meals and the school day flow efficiently, the district asks parents to pre-order meals using Meals will be delivered before dismissal of the morning and afternoon cohorts at the elementary and middle school and delivered during the two meal periods at Orange High School. Remote online learners can still pick up their meals between 11 a.m. and noon at the high school front entrance. Menus and pre-order tutorials are on the food service page of the Orange schools website. Limited snack items will also be available for purchase at Orange High School.
