Bus drivers visit students

Moreland Hills Elementary School students and parents received a visit on Sept. 4 from their Orange schools bus drivers who delivered pre-ordered student supply boxes to their homes. Drivers spent the Thursday loading the supplies onto their buses so they could run their regular routes for delivery. Older students also were on hand to say hello to their former bus drivers.

Seniors earn semifinalist titles

On Sept. 8, Orange High School seniors Stephen Daly and Steven Fellinger received recognition as 2020 National Merit Scholarship Program Semi-Finalists.

More than 1.6 million juniors in 22,000 high schools across the country initially entered the National Scholarship Program last year by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) and by meeting published program entry and participation requirements. Those chosen for semifinalist recognition are among the top scorers in the areas of critical reading, mathematics and writing skills in the country. About 15,000 will become finalists who will compete for scholarships worth more than $32 million that will be awarded in the spring.
