Orange senior Blake Rothchild carried a lot of weight on her shoulders for her lone season with the Lion girls tennis team but lived up to her family legacy by qualifying for the Division II state tournament in the singles bracket.

When Orange Lions’ senior Blake Rothchild visited Orange High School in the summer of 2021, a lot had changed for her.

It was the first time she had returned to Pepper Pike since the passing of her father, Marc Rothchild, a two-time Ohio High School Athletic Association Division II state singles tennis champion. She traveled from Florida to present the Marc Rothchild Award to Lions’ then-senior Josh Nwaozuzu on the occasion of the Orange boys capturing the Division II team state title.
