Food distribution at fairgrounds

United Way Services of Geauga County and the Greater Cleveland Food Bank will provide boxes of food to Geauga residents from 3-5 p.m. every Tuesday in February and March at the Geauga County Fairgrounds, 14373 N. Lunch and Learn upcoming

Join Hello LLC with the Chagrin Valley Chamber of Commerce to hear from Michelle Venorsky for a Lunch and Learn session for advertising tips via Zoom on Feb. 23 from 11 a.m. to noon. The lunch sponsor for this session is Paninis. Participants will receive a $10 gift card to enjoy lunch at another time, but must attend the event to receive the gift card. Learn about beekeeping

On Feb. 25 and March 25, Dale Olson will present workshops on beekeeping for beginners with the Geauga County Beekeepers Association education program. Learn the basics of honey bee biology, where to get bees, how to start a hive, equipment, feeding, inspections, swarm control and more. Information on package bees, nucs and equipment will be available at the workshop. Both workshops will take place at the Gardiner Elementary Center, 9421 E. Bainbridge Road in Bainbridge, in room C7, from 6:30-9 p.m. Cost is $55 per family and includes a book about bees. Order pancake breakfasts

The Bainbridge Civic Club will host two pancake breakfasts on March 7 and 14 as takeout only. Meals, which must be ordered online and in advance, will be available for pick-up at the Kenston High School, 9500 Bainbridge Road, between 8 a.m. and noon. Meal combinations are limited. Buy GSWC trees, fish

The Geauga Soil and Water Conservation District is taking orders for the 2021 Tree Sale and Spring Fish Sale. Order forms and details are at www.geaugaswcd.com. The deadline to order trees is April 1 with pick-up on April 23 and 24. The deadline to order spring fish is April 9 with pick-up on April 15. Legion serves pancakes

Atwood-Mauck American Legion Post 459 annual pancake and sausage breakfasts are available as takeout only every Sunday through April 18, except April 4, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 14052 Goodwin St. in Burton. The public is welcome. For more information, call 440-834-1191.

Pancake breakfast at VFW

Chardon VFW Post 6519 annual pancake breakfasts are held every Sunday through April 25, except April 4, from 8 a.m. to noon at 752 Water St. in Chardon. Breakfast includes pancakes, eggs made to order, French toast, sausage, bacon, ham, home fries, toast and beverages. Senior and kids menus are available as well as carryout. The American Red Cross is in urgent need of healthy donors of all blood types to give blood or platelets to help with the new surge of COVID-19 cases.
