Geauga Dems host forum

The Geauga County Democratic Party will host a candidates forum tonight (Thursday) for the Democratic Primary at 7 p.m. at the Geauga County Democratic Headquarters, 12420 Kinsman Road in Newbury. In addition to local candidates, the presidential campaigns are sending high-profile surrogates. A full house is expected. The program should last approximately 90 minutes.

Good deeds program upcoming

Geauga County Probate Court and Recorder offers the award-winning Good Deeds Program at 10 a.m. on Saturday (Feb. 22) at West Woods Park, 9465 Kinsman Road (Route 87) in Russell.

This free program provides residents ages 18 to 100-plus with an understanding of probate issues regarding property transfers. Attorneys are available for free consultations, and attendees receive a free checklist to use as a resource when reviewing their assets, both at home and with their attorneys. Alzheimer’s walk virtual Q&A

Join the Alzheimer’s Association on Feb. 24 from 6-7 p.m. for a 2020 Walk to End Alzheimer’s Committee Facebook Live Info Night.

This is the time to learn more about getting involved with chapter walk events in the fight to end Alzheimer’s. This virtual Q&A is geared to answer questions about committee opportunities for the Cleveland, Kirtland or Lorain walk events. Join the event from a computer or phone. Healthy living for brain, body

A representative from the Alzheimer’s Association will share research in the areas of diet and nutrition, exercise, cognitive activity and social engagement and use hands-on tools to help incorporate recommendations into a plan for healthy aging. Join for a special weekday afternoon program on Feb. 25 from 2-3 p.m. at the Solon Branch of the Cuyahoga County Public Library, 34125 Portz Pkwy. Tea Party hosts candidate night

Join the Geauga County Tea Party for their Candidate Night at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 25 at the West Woods Nature Center, 9465 Kinsman Road (Route 87) in Russell Township, just east of the Routes 306 and Route 87 intersection. Hear candidates in the Republican March 17, 2020 Primary Election present their positions and field questions from the audience.

Solon Dems host watch party

The Solon Democratic Club invites the public to a watch party for the Democratic Primary Debate on Feb. 25 at 7:30 p.m. at Solon’s Burgers 2 Beer, 33003 Aurora Road. Complementary appetizers and a cash bar will be available. All are welcome.

Meditate at the library

Jan Webber of Holistic Life Solutions will lead a guided chakra meditation session at the Chagrin Falls Branch of the Cuyahoga County Public Library, 100 E. Orange St, from 7-8 p.m. on Feb. 26. No experience is necessary.  Registration is requested for this free program at 440-247-3556.

Troop hosts pancake breakfast

Boy Scout Troop 101 will host an all-you-can-eat breakfast at the Auburn Fire Department, 10950 Washington St. in Auburn, on March 1 from 8 a.m. to noon. Enjoy regular, blueberry or buckwheat pancakes, sausage, pure Geauga County maple syrup, coffee and juice.  Cost is $8 for adults, $6 for seniors and $5 for children 12 years old and younger.
