Souper Bowl Sunday collection

While NFL players tackled each other on Super Bowl Sunday, youth from Lord of Life Lutheran Church tackled hunger. They led a spare change collection for local food banks, an effort known as the Souper Bowl of Caring. Lord of Life sponsored the Burton Food Cupboard, located at Burton Congregational Church, 14558 W. Park St. The pantry is open five days a week and offers food to more than 700 people. The youth collected change for the food pantry before and after all services on Feb. 2 in the Lord of Life gathering space.
