Bluegrass jamboree

Hambden Grange will be hosting Mark Posey’s Doghouse Entertainment Bluegrass Jamboree at 9778 Old State Road, Chardon.

Doors open at 6 p.m. Nov. 27 and the show starts at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $12 for adults and children ages 12 and under are free. Food will also be available for purchase.

Holiday decorating contest

The Chardon Chamber of Commerce, the Chardon Square Association and Chardon Tomorrow have teamed up to present a business and organization holiday decorating contest.

The categories of the decorating contest will be the “Most Festive display,” the “Best Vintage/Classic display,” and the “Most Creative display.”

The contest goes live on Dec. 2, which corresponds with the tree lighting ceremony, and will run through Dec. 17, with winners chosen on Dec. 18.

All businesses that are wishing to participate must have their spaces decorated by 5 p.m. Dec. 2 and register at

This contest is open to public vote, which can be done on the Chardon Tomorrow social media sites starting Dec. 2.

Eclectic musical celebration

M.U.S.i.C presents an Eclectic Musical Celebration on Dec. 4 at the Church of the Western Reserve, 30500 Fairmount Blvd, Pepper Pike. Doors open at 3:30 p.m. and the show starts at 4 p.m. The performance will include arrangements from Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker ballet, a Mozart piano trio and piano quartet, a fantasy for violin and harp, a trio for flute, oboe, and piano, vocal works, duets and dances and other surprises.

Admission is $60 for patrons, $35 for general admission and $15 for students. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative test is required prior to entry and masks are required.

Holiday open house

The Chagrin Falls Historical Society & Museum invites visitors to its annual Holiday Open House from 1-5 p.m. Dec. 11.

This is a family friendly event where kids are invited to decorate a Christmas tree in the Community Room. Refreshments will be provided.

The museum will also be collecting donations for the Chagrin Valley Little Theatre. When you donate, you will be entered in a raffle to win two 2022 Home Tour tickets.
