NDCL observes All Souls Day

To commemorate All Souls Day, the Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin campus ministers and Chaplain Father Jim Caddy led 15 small-group prayer services for all students last week. Students had the opportunity to light candles in the Annunciation Chapel in honor of persons who died in the past year. NDCL also provided frames for students who wished to display photos of their loved ones.

Ordinarily, NDCL would gather the entire school community for an all-school Mass in the McGarry Gym, but because of the pandemic, such a large gathering was just not possible. The smaller gatherings in the chapel allowed the campus to continue their All Souls Day tradition in a more intimate way.

Notre Dame sponsors Giving Day

Last year, more than 500 donors combined to give about $270,000 to Notre Dame schools on Giving Day, which was used to provide in-person education for almost 1,100 students.

Notre Dame schools ask the community to consider making a gift for their upcoming 2020 Giving Day, Nov. 19, to raise funds for program and facility improvements not covered by tuition. This year’s Giving Day will help improve the campus, like with the replacement of more than 1,000 light fixtures with LED technology in all classrooms, hallways, gymnasiums and offices.
