New game times, punch pass

Join the Orange Senior Center/Orange Community Education & Recreation on Mondays from noon to 3 p.m. and Fridays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for drop-in games like mahjong, bridge, canasta and others. Buy a pass and play any Monday or Friday that fits your schedule. Punch pass does not expire. First Friday Films showing

Board of elections job fair

The Cuyahoga County Board of Elections is inviting the public to attend a job fair on Jan. 6 at the Cuyahoga County Garage, 2501 Harvard Ave. in Newburgh Heights, as part of their effort to hire more than 4,000 individuals to assist voters on Election Day as precinct election officials (PEOs). In addition, there are openings for ride-along officials, drop-off assistants, rovers and more than 300 openings for in-house, full-time temporary clerks. The job fair will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, call 216-443-6600.

The Presidential Primary Election falls on St. Patrick’s Day (March 17). Precinct Election Officials earn $172.10, and clerks are paid $11.50 per hour for assignments that can last several weeks to three months, depending on the assignment. January craft classes

Buckets for Orange game

Buckets for Orange Rec Basketball Game, featuring Orange City School District staff and community members, will be Jan. 10 from 6-7:30 p.m. at Orange High School in the gym. Doors open at 5 p.m. Admission is $5 per person, and tickets will be sold at the door on game day (cash preferred). Concessions, raffles, contests and prizes will be offered throughout the evening.

The event is sponsored by the Citizens for the Continuation of Orange Community Recreation who will raise funds and provide information about the organization’s five-year renewal levy before voters on March 17. Enjoy dinner and Aladdin

The Orange Senior Center and Orange Community Education & Recreation, 32205 Chagrin Blvd. in Pepper Pike, will host Stagecrafters Theatre Director Wendy Scott-Koeth on Jan. 16 from 5-9 p.m. Ms. Scott-Koeth will present a preshow talk on the production of Disney’s Aladdin and give the inside scoop on what it takes to put on a production featuring almost 100 young actors. The event includes a special dinner at the OSC, then moves to Orange High School to watch the show. Pre-registration is required by Jan. 10. Cost is $22 for OSC members and $27 for nonmembers.
