Women’s guild plans spring brunch

St. Joan of Arc Women’s Guild of Chagrin Falls is holding it’s annual spring brunch and fashion show at the Club of Hillbrook at 11 a.m. May 9. Maggie’s Place of Garfield Heights will be honored.  Fashions will be by the Chagrin merchants. EncoreNEO speaker series

EncoreNEO hosts a weekly speaker series, Mondays at 7:30 a.m. at the Geauga County Public Library Newbury Station, 14775 Auburn Road. Community Health & Wellness Fair

Geauga seniors are welcome to attend a community Health & Wellness Fair sponsored by University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center, Chester Fire Department and the Geauga County Department on Aging, May 4 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the West Geauga Senior Center, 12650 West Geauga Plaza #4 in Chester.

OSC yoga classes

The Orange Senior Center, 32205 Chagrin Blvd., offers two yoga classes in May. Gentle Yoga class meets Tuesdays at 3 p.m. and is a classic hatha class in an accessible, supportive and beginner-friendly environment. No experience is necessary; bring a yoga mat and dress comfortably. On Thursdays at 9:15 a.m., balance/chair yoga is offered, designed to improve balance and flexibility through mindful movement and adaptive exercises that can be done while seated or standing. Both classes individually cost $63 for residents/OSC members and $68 for nonresidents. Yoga punch passes for five sessions of yoga classes cost $45 and never expire. Tai chi classes

Bainbridge book sale

The Friends of the Bainbridge Library host a book sale at the library, 17222 Snyder Road, May 8-12. Friends preview is May 8 from 4-6 p.m. with the sale open to all from 6-8:45 p.m. The sale is open May 9 from 9 a.m. to 8:45 p.m., May 10-11 from 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. and May 12 from 1-4:45 p.m. May 11 is bag day, where everything that fits in a bag is $3. Bridge classes offered

Bridge Improvement class at the Orange Senior Center, 32205 Chagrin Blvd. in Pepper Pike, is designed for you and your specific questions about bridge. You can request or suggest the topics on Thursday mornings from 10 a.m. to noon beginning May 9.

Bridge 3:  Popular Conventions will be held on Thursday afternoons from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. The popular conventions including Stayman, Jacoby Transfers, Strong Opening Bids and Slam Bidding will be introduced; complete with prepared boards and supervised play to discuss declarer play, opening leads and defensive techniques including signaling.

Farm Market season opener

Geauga Fresh Farmers’ Market will begin its summer season on May 11 from 9 a.m. to noon in the South Russell Town Hall parking lot, 5205 Chillicothe Road (Route 306). On Opening Day, Hawthorn Springs Greenhouse will welcome market visitors to the 2019 summer season with a free blueberry plant. Geauga County Master Gardeners will be on hand to offer advice on how to care for the plant and to answer general questions about plants and gardening.

Kellogg speaks at dinner

Beekeepers Field Day
