Listen to M.U.S.i.C. in the gardens

Join M.U.S.i.C. for “A Musical Summer Evening in the Gardens” for a live performance outdoors at Artistic Director Jodie Kanter’ garden on Aug. 13 or Aug. 15 ( Aug. 14 and 16 rain dates, respectively) at 7 p.m. Seating begins at 6:30 p.m. The program will include sonatas, quartets, dances and original works by composers from around the world.

Patrons must arrive in masks, which may be removed once seated, and maintain social distancing. Disinfecting wipes and hand sanitizer will be available. Seating will be set up around the garden to keep the audience socially distant for everyone’s safety and comfort. Prepackaged food and canned beverages will be provided, but attendees must provide their own wine. Reservations can be made to Ms. Kanter at 216-702-7047 or stars@intheclassics.org. The address is available upon registration.

Shakespeare in Solon

Come support local professional actors in Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night on Labor Day Weekend in the Solon Community Park, 6679 SOM Center Road. The new adaptation by Playwright Alison Carey runs Sept. 4 and 6 at 7 p.m. The production will be shown on a large LED screen and utilize Zoom, green screens, costumes and props. Circles will be drawn to space out groups of guests on the ground. Food trucks will be available, but guests are welcome to bring their own refreshments.

Director of Play On Shakespeare Lue Douthit, formerly of Oregon Shakespeare, is the consultant and Delaney Hagy and Tyler Collins are the co-directors of the adaptation.

The event is free and open to the public, but free-will donations to support the Ohio Innocence Project (a partner of music and art with Chagrin Arts) will be accepted.
