VAC public thank you

The Valley Art Center is inviting the community to participate in their “Let the Chalk Talk!” initiative to thank fellow community members, frontline workers and teachers.

Through the month of May, the VAC invites artists of all ages to draw a big “thank you” message in a square format-on their driveway, sidewalk or even on paper with colorful chalk. Take a photo of the finished work and email it to with the name, city and age of any artists who are children. Submissions will be added to the VAC’s special gallery page on their website and posted on their social media as a way to send appreciation to everyone working to help move through the health crisis.

Call for preservation

As Chagrin Valley residents react to new policies and recommendations during the COVID-19 health crisis, the Chagrin Falls Historical Society & Museum invites members of the community to donate physical or digital recordings and/or objects that demonstrate how they continue to communicate, work, teach, create, pray, celebrate, mourn and give aid to others for historical documentation and preservation.

You can help us by donating physical materials – such as modified takeout menus, business signage, home lesson plans or grocery lists – or submitting digital content, such as personal reflections and stories, photos or social media and blog posts.

Submit digital files to For more information on contribution guidelines and terms, contact 440-247-4695 or All accepted items will be made available for public research by the Chagrin Falls Historical Society & Museum.
