Cross country team wins conference
The Cardinal Middle School girls cross country team won the CVC Valley Division conference meet on Oct. 15. Teammates finished in first, third, fifth, eighth, 11th and 13th place, with the first-place win earning the CVC Valley Division MVP Award. The team’s trophy is on display at the middle school.
Students bring buddies to lunch
Each year, Jordak Elementary School students are invited to bring their favorite stuffed animal to school with them and then bring it to lunch. Students show and share their favorite buddies with their friends, and the cafeteria staff prepares a pancake lunch to go along with the occasion. All lunch “visitors” kept the appropriate social distance, and some even wore masks.
Parkman Trustees donate to district
The Parkman Township Trustees donated two electrostatic sprayers, corresponding disinfectant solution and thermal imaging cameras to Cardinal Local Schools. The trustees attended the Cardinal Board of Education on Oct. 14 for recognition of their donation.
The sprayers will be used in vehicles on a daily basis and are designed to deploy the solution so that it sticks to all sides of the surface that it is applied to. The cameras will help staff monitor the temperature of every person that enters the building and alert them to any potential issues right away. The cameras are designed to monitor several temperatures at once, thus decreasing congestion for school arrival in the mornings.
