Missing man found
On Dec. 21 at around 7 p.m., a Cleveland Street man from Chagrin Falls was reported missing after failing to return home from a scheduled medical appointment.
Chagrin Falls police said they were able to contact the man and confirmed that he did not go home of his own choosing and was not in distress.
Man taken to hospital
Chagrin Falls officers were dispatched to Carriage Drive on Dec. 22 on a report of a man who had possibly overdosed. The male was transported to the hospital for further care.
Medical assistance dispatched
At 2 a.m. on Dec. 22, Chagrin Falls police officers were dispatched to Nob Hill Drive for a welfare check on a female that was reportedly screaming in the parking lot of the building.
Responding officers assessed the situation and requested medical assistance for the female.
Shouting match reported
Officers were dispatched to a report of a domestic dispute underway on Carriage Drive in Chagrin Falls the evening of Dec. 22 and found a male and female had become involved in a verbal altercation before police arrived.
There was no physical violence and the parties were advised to not contact one another for the remainder of the evening. Police noted the female does not live at the home.
Christmas decorations stolen
A South Franklin Street resident called Chagrin Falls police on Dec. 24 to report a theft of exterior Christmas decorations from her yard.
She estimated the stolen items were worth an estimated $150.
That same morning, a Hall Street resident reported her neighbor’s outside Christmas decorations had been damaged.
Wallet stolen from car
On Dec. 26, a Solon Road resident called Chagrin Falls police to report an unknown individual had entered his vehicle, took his wallet containing credit cards which had since been used at various locations.
A home security camera showed a thin adult male wearing winter clothing in the area. The theft is under investigation.
Man faces firearm charge
A Shaker Heights man was charged by Solon police with improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle on Dec. 22.
At 11:56 p.m., a driver was operating a vehicle on Aurora Road with no headlight, according to police reports. He was found to be driving under suspension. A search of the vehicle revealed a 9 millimeter pistol in a backpack behind the driver’s seat, the report states.
Aaron West was cited for driving under suspension and held on improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle, police said.
Charges after brothers fight
Domestic violence charges resulted from a fight between two brothers on Dec. 25, according to Solon police.
At 4 p.m., police responded to Portage Street where a man allegedly threatened to shoot his brother after a verbal argument. The victim was 54 years old.
The brother, 52, of Solon, was charged with domestic violence in the incident, police said.
OVI charges in Solon
A Chagrin Falls man was charged with drunken driving on Dec. 27 in Solon.
At 12:48 a.m., police said a man was operating a vehicle on Aurora Road and Portz Parkway with no working headlights.
There was a strong odor of alcohol, police said, and the driver failed field sobriety tests. He submitted to a breath test which registered a .119 percent BAC.
Spencer Yak, 21, was charged with OVI, prohibited BAC and no headlights, police said.
