Donald M. Satava

Donald M. Satava died on March 12, 2021. He was born March 13, 1930 to the late Joseph and Alice Satava in Bedford, Ohio.

He is survived by his brother Robert Satava of Macedonia; nephew Bob Satava of Cleveland; three children, Stephen (Frances) of Yorktown, Virginia, James (Katie) of Ringoes, New Jersey, and Karen Harnar (John) of Cuyahoga Falls; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife of 65 years Joan A. Satava (nee Myers) and his parents.

Mr. Satava was a 1947 graduate of Bedford High School and a 1951 graduate of Ohio University with a degree in mechanical engineering. He was a member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity. He was a resident of Geauga County,and lived in the Bellwood Lake community for more than 45 years. Mr. Satava was an avid outdoorsman and liked to play golf, hunt and fish the lakes and rivers of Ohio and Canada. Mr. and Mrs. Satava were long-time members of the Pymatuning Century Club and spent many hours sailing their Flying Scot sailboat on Pymatuning Lake. Mr. Satava was a Master Mason for more than 50 years and was past master of the lodge in Chagrin Falls.

The family extended thanks to the staff at Holly Hill Healthcare Residence for their care of Mr. Satava in his final years. Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date.
