Domestic violence charge

A 57-year-old Newbury Township woman was arrested and charged with domestic violence last week.

The Geauga County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called to a residence on Sunday where a man reported having been bit and items thrown at him.

Police said in addition to the domestic violence offense, the woman was also charged with disorderly conduct.

Man reports possible scam

A Newbury Township resident reported last week he was concerned he may become a victim of a scam after providing personal information to a caller.

According to the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office, a Kinsman Road (Route 87) resident reported Monday that he received a call during which he provided his personal information.

The man was advised to put an alert on his bank account.

Catalytic converter thefts reported

A Newbury Township business reported the theft of catalytic converters last week.

The Geauga County Sheriff’s Office said a Kinsman Road (Route 87) resident reported the thefts Feb. 5.

Man reports 36 parrots stolen

A Munson Township resident reported the theft of 36 parrots last week.

The Geauga County Sheriff’s Office said a Waterfowl Lane resident reported Feb. 4 finding the birds, cages and supplies missing from his home.

The resident told deputies he believed his wife may have the birds, but deputies reported they were unable to contact the wife to verify the resident’s claim.

Drunken driving convictions

The following persons were convicted of drunken driving last week in Chardon Municipal Court:

Sean M. Zett, 35, of Streetsboro and John M. Grandits, 44, of Newbury Township.
